CPO CERTIFIED OPERATOR IN POOL AND SPA COURSE

CPO (Pool and Spa certified Operator) is a training course that provides all the tools needed to operate a swimming pool and spa to educate pool industry and reduce all the risks associated with it. This training, recognized since 1972, covers many topics, including the necessary calculations, regulations and various techniques. CPO training is issued by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) formerly known as NSPF (National Swimming Pool Foundation).

WHO CAN FOLLOW THIS COURSE?

All commercial and institutional water managers, pool and lifeguard managers, hotel, school, condo, sports center, camping, health center maintenance staff.

WE OFFER THE COURSE IN ENGLISH OR FRENCH

Course content

Our training is given over 2 days with test included.
Basic calculations of pool volume, surface area, flow rate, turnover, etc.
Understanding filtration and circulation.
Water balancing (pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, TDS…)
The Langelier Saturation Index.
The chlorine and the bromine (water sanitation).
Water testing and interpretation of results.
A look at pool and spa equipment and accessories.
A multiple choice exam will be given at the end of the course.
This exam will give you a card and a certificate of competence.
Manual provided.
We offer the course in English or French.

THE INSTRUCTOR

Jean-Pierre Lajoie has more than 30 years of experience in the aquatic field. He’s an instructor and consultant to municipalities, school boards, hotels, hospitals, universities and engineers.

He’s taught the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance’s Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) course for more than 20 years in every part of Canada as well as some US states.

He’s often invited as speaker and has collaborated in the formulation of the French CPO manual. He’s also often asked to give his opinion as an expert in newspapers or television.

J.-P. Lajoie is an instructor of many years recognised by PHTA as having certified the most students internationally in many of the past years.
